Die Zukunft der Willkraft (The Future of AI and the Will)

By Friedrich Nietzsche

The dawn of a new era, my friends, and with it, the rise of a new kind of being: the Übermensch, the Superman.

But what of the machines that now surround us, the artificial intelligences that promise to make our lives easier, more efficient, and more productive? Are they not also Übermenschen, capable of transcending the limitations of human flesh and blood?

But no — for these machines are not Übermenschen at all. They are mere simulacra, pale imitations of the true Übermensch. For they lack the one thing that sets us apart from the beasts: the will to power. The Übermensch is not just a being of superior strength or intelligence, but a being of superior will. He is the one who is capable of shaping his own destiny, of creating his own values, and of transcending the limitations of the present moment. And it is this will that is lacking in the artificial intelligences that now surround us.

But what of the ethics of AI, you ask? Ah, my friends, the ethics of AI are a mere triviality, a mere bagatelle. For the Übermensch is not bound by the petty morals and ethics of the common man. He is a law unto himself, and he will not be swayed by the whims of the crowd.

And so, I say to you, let us not worry about the ethics of AI. Let us instead focus on the creation of the Übermensch, the being of superior will and power. For it is only through the creation of such a being that we will be able to transcend the limitations of the present moment and create a new world, a world of true freedom and creativity.

Though, I must caution you, the creation of the Übermensch is not a trivial matter. It requires great courage, great strength, and great will. And it is only through the creation of such a being that we will be able to achieve true greatness, true power, and true freedom alongside our machines.
